Why visit these places

Queen of Tears aired on tvN from March 9 to Apr 28, 2024, and its finale drew a 24.9% nationwide rating (Nielsen Korea), the highest in tvN history, passing Crash Landing on You’s 21.7%. It also topped Netflix’s Global Top 10 (non-English) TV chart during its run. That popularity is why these places are worth a trip: Seoul and Mungyeong both claimed the drama for tourism — Seoul’s Soul Spot program listed The Hyundai Seoul and the Korean Stone Art Museum in its first batch of Queen of Tears sites, and Mungyeong City promoted Yongyeon-ri as the real Yongduri. The two halves contrast sharply. Seoul gives you the chaebol world: a flagship department store standing in for the Queens family business, a museum of stone guardians, and a stone bridge first built in 1410 on a restored city stream. Mungyeong gives you the countryside the story comes from: a railbike date through the valley, an amusement park from the drama’s farewell scenes, and the farming village behind the fictional Yongduri. Visit Seoul first, then give Mungyeong its own day.

Seoul → Mungyeong (KTX-Eum)

Central Inland Line (중부내륙선) KTX-Eum extended Chungju–Mungyeong from Nov 30, 2024, with service patterned from Pangyo → Mungyeong in about 90 minutes, 8 round trips per day (at opening, Nov 30, 2024; Yonhap coverage of the MOLIT opening). Mungyeong Station → Gurang-ri / Eco World

Not walkable. Plan a taxi or local ride and check today’s route with the Kakao Map and Naver Map links on each place card. Bus numbers and times are not listed here; check the local bus app.

Mungyeong City reorganized its city bus routes on Jul 1, 2025, adding an express line 점촌–점촌역–문경역–문경새재 (Mungyeong City notice, checked Sep 29, 2026). Check the official timetable on Mungyeong City’s bus page.
