What “checked twice” means

Every guide goes through two passes before it goes live: a writer drafts it from sources, then a separate verifier re-checks every claim against those sources before anything is published. A pin earns its label only from the sources behind it:

• Confirmed — two or more independent sources with different origins name the place. Independent means genuinely separate: a broadcaster or studio, VisitKorea / Korea Tourism Organization, VisitSeoul or a city tourism office, or major reputable press. Two pages from the same organization, or a press release rewritten by several outlets, count as one source.
• Reported as — one such source names the place. We keep looking for a second, and the wording stays cautious until one turns up.
• Fan-spotted — Korean fan researchers matched the place to scenes. We name the place, say it appears in the drama, and link the fan source — without describing scenes and without presenting it as confirmed.

One source is never enough on its own. If no source names a place, the place does not get listed — we do not invent filming-location claims. See How we verify pins for the full method.

What we leave out

Some places are never listed, however well documented they are: private homes, operating hospitals and schools, studios, and other private places. Streets and bus stops get only a nearby landmark, never an exact spot. If visiting a place would disturb the people who live or work there, it does not belong on a travel guide.

Photos

Every photo on this site is a photograph of the real place, under one of four open licences only: CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA, or Korea Open Government License (KOGL) Type 1. Each photo is credited on the page where it appears, with its source linked.

We never publish copyrighted drama stills, posters, or screenshots — and we never use fake or AI-generated photos presented as the real place.

Who runs it

The site is run anonymously by a small independent team. The team is based in South Korea. We are not affiliated with any broadcaster, production company, or tourism agency. We keep names off the site on purpose; what you can check is the sources, and every guide lists them.

Editorial principles

• Every guide goes through a write → independent verify → publish pass before it goes live.
• A stop is Confirmed only when two independent sources name it. One source, or several pages from the same organization, stays Reported as.
• Photos follow the policy above: open licences only (CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA, KOGL Type 1), credited on the page.
• We don’t guess transit exits, prices, or distances. If a source doesn’t say it, we leave it out or mark it unverified.
• Labels and sources are never paid for. See the affiliate disclosure.
• Corrections are welcome and get fixed on the guide itself.
• Each stop shows its last-checked date, so you can see how fresh the information is.
