How we verify pins

Independent English travel guides to K-drama filming locations in Korea. No drama stills. Sources listed on every guide.

Last reviewed: 17 October 2026. This page was updated as part of a site-wide editorial review that also expanded the homepage introduction and the About page.

Labels

  • Confirmed — verified by two or more independent sources with different origins. This is the two-source rule: one source is never enough on its own (broadcaster/studio; VisitKorea / KTO; VisitSeoul or city tourism; major reputable press). VisitSeoul EN+KO of the same article counts as one source. Municipal PR plus press rewriting the same announcement counts as one source.
  • Reported — one official or press source. Wording stays cautious.
  • Fan-spotted — identified by Korean fan researchers by matching scenes; not yet confirmed by official sources. We name the place and say it appears in the drama, without describing scenes. Homes, schools, hospitals, studios and other private places are never listed, and streets or bus stops get only a nearby landmark, not an exact spot.
  • Unverified — omitted or labeled as such. We do not invent filming-location claims.

Every location card carries a trust badge: the label above, how many sources the card cites (official or press sources for confirmed and reported places, fan sources for fan-spotted ones; two articles repeating one press release are cited separately but count once for the label), and the date we last checked those sources.

Animated titles

Animated films are not shot anywhere, so their places are never called filming locations and never get the labels above. When a real place is drawn as a backdrop, its card says Featured in (animated), plus where that link comes from: Officially listed (a city, tourism board, studio or streamer names the place) or Fan-matched (fans matched it to a scene; we then say only that it appears in the animated film).

How a guide is made

Every guide goes through the same three passes: write, independent verify, then publish. The writer drafts the guide from sources; a separate verifier re-checks every claim — the place, the label, the sources, the transit details — against those sources before the guide goes live. A guide that fails verification does not publish until it is fixed.

After publication, guides are re-checked. Every location card carries the date we last checked its sources, so readers can see how fresh the information is. When a place closes, moves, or a source turns out to be wrong, the card is corrected on the guide itself — the guide is always the current record, not an announcement somewhere else.

Corrections are welcome at [email protected]. A correction backed by a source gets fixed on the guide itself.

Recent updates

  • 17 October 2026 — expanded the homepage introduction, the About page (what “checked twice” means, what we leave out, photo policy), and this Method page (how a guide is made, recent updates). No verification rules changed.

Corrections to guides are recorded on the Corrections page. Other updates are recorded on the relevant page or guide itself.

Transit rules

  • Station badges use the real Seoul Metro line color for that station. We only show a line badge when the guide already has transit information.
  • Solid dots mean Confirmed. Hollow dots mean Reported as.
  • We publish a bus number only with an official source (a city bus information system or the operator's timetable) and the date we checked it; taxi distances only as a dated Kakao Map or Naver Map route result. We do not publish transfers or where the stairs are. Each place links to Kakao Map, Naver Map and the official planners (Seoul Metro for the subway, Korail for trains) for live routes. See Getting around Korea.

What we do not do

  • No copyrighted drama stills or fake photos.
  • We never guess exits or distances. If a source doesn't give it, we leave it out.
  • No hotel endorsements.
