The mansion sits on a university campus; view it from outside the Unhyeongung wall (Newsis, May 2026). Unhyeongung is closed Mondays.

Scope

This guide is for Seoul filming stops you can pin on a map. Seaside and resort scenes at Jumunjin (Gangneung) and other non-Seoul locations are a different trip.

Places we couldn’t verify

  • Ilgamho Lake (Konkuk) — one press report names museum-front filming, not a clear lake pilgrimage stop.
  • Seongsu “yellow wall” bookstore walks — Korea Times ties the yellow used-bookstore craze to Hanmi Bookstore in Incheon, not Seoul Seongsu.

Lodging (neighborhoods)

  • Anguk / Bukchon / Samcheong — Best base for Gamgodang-gil and the Unhyeongung area (Line 3 Anguk).
  • Yongdap / Seongsu (Seongdong) — Separate Line 2 hop for the bridge.
  • City Hall / Jeong-dong — Only if you add the Deoksugung walk.

  • AREX All-Stop: about 59 min T1 → Seoul Station; about 66 min T2; listed fare band ₩4,150–4,750 one-way.
  • AREX Express: nonstop; about 43 min T1 / 51 min T2; listed fare ₩13,000 one-way.

Seoul Metro (for Anguk and Yongdap)

Seoul Metro official English fare page (accessed 2026-09-23): adult transportation-card basic fare 1,550 KRW up to 10 km, then distance add-ons; single-use +100 KRW. English maps: seoulmetro.co.kr/en.

  • Anguk cluster (Gamgodang-gil + Unhyeongung / Yanggwan): Line 3 Anguk (Exit 1 for Gamgodang-gil; Exit 4 for Unhyeongung).
  • Yongdap bridge: Line 2 Yongdap — separate from the Anguk day unless you transfer.

FAQ

Can I go inside the Goblin house (Yanggwan)?
Treat interior campus access as unavailable for casual visitors. Newsis (May 2026) states exterior viewing only from outside the Unhyeongung wall. If you cannot see the mansion, visit free Unhyeongung next door (VisitSeoul: closed Mondays) instead of forcing campus entry.

Is Gamgodang-gil the only “first meeting” place?
No. VisitSeoul frames Gamgodang-gil as a Seoul first-meet path; Korea Times frames Jumunjin (outside Seoul) as where the couple meet and speak by the sea. Deoksugung Doldam-gil is a separate VisitSeoul-mentioned wall near City Hall.

Were the seaside Goblin scenes filmed in Seoul?
No. Korea Times and other press highlight Jumunjin (Gangneung) and other non-Seoul sites.
