What’s real and what was a set
The games were filmed on sets. Netflix Tudum says the game sets were built in Daejeon, at the Daejeon Expo Science Park, where all the game filming took place, and that those sets have since been taken down. The island where the games are held in the story is linked to Seongapdo, a private island that is not open to visitors, according to Tudum and The Fact. This guide gives no locations for game scenes.
What you can visit are the everyday places around the games: where Gi-hun first meets the Recruiter, where the players split up after the vote, and the Season 2 streets where Gi-hun hunts the Recruiter down.
Across Seoul (Season 1)
Seoul City says the ddakji game that opens the series was filmed on the platform at Yangjae Citizen’s Forest Station on the Sinbundang Line. Its Namsan trail stop is general: Seoul City names a walking trail, not a point, so the card gives the area only.

Seasons 2 & 3
Seoul City’s Seoul Love magazine names three Season 2 places, all close together in central Seoul: Tapgol Park, Jonggak Station and Daelim Sangga on Eulji-ro. Each has one source so far and is labeled reported. We found no official or press source naming a real Season 3 location.
Incheon (Season 1)
Wolmido’s My Land amusement park and Incheon International Airport are the two Incheon stops. Check My Land’s own hours before you go.
Lost filming spots
Sangbong Bus Terminal, Jungnang-gu. Seoul City and VisitSeoul promoted the terminal as the place where Gi-hun first runs into Sae-byeok after his win at the races. It closed on Nov 30, 2023, after 38 years, and the site is being redeveloped, SBS Biz and Seoul Economic Daily reported.
Younghee at Olympic Park. A 4-meter Younghee figure stood on the 88 Lawn at Olympic Park for about three months, until Jan 23, 2022, Seoul City and YTN reported. It was a temporary display, not a filming location, and it is no longer there.
More Squid Game places
Gi-hun’s neighborhood has its own guide: Squid Game in Ssangmun-dong. Every place from the show is on the Squid Game filming locations page.
Getting there
Find the nearest subway station and walking route on Naver Map (English UI) or Seoul Metro. For Incheon Airport, see AREX.
