Why visit Itaewon Class filming locations
Itaewon Class (이태원 클라쓰) aired on JTBC for 16 episodes from January 31 to Mar 21, 2020, and streams worldwide on Netflix. Based on the webtoon of the same name by Gwang Jin, it stars Park Seo-joon as Park Sae-ro-yi, Kim Da-mi as Jo Yi-seo, Yoo Jae-myung as Jang Dae-hee, and Kwon Nara as Oh Soo-ah. Sae-ro-yi, expelled from school and later imprisoned after a confrontation with the family behind the Jangga food conglomerate, returns to open a small bar-restaurant called Danbam in Itaewon and builds it into a rival business.
The drama filmed much of its street life in the real Itaewon and Haebangchon area. Seoul’s city government notes that Danbam, the Noksapyeong overpass, World Food Street, G Guesthouse, and Gyeongnidan-gil are all in Itaewon — which is why this walk works: the story’s neighborhood is a real, compact district you can cover on foot, not a set scattered across the country.
This guide covers six stops. Three are Confirmed with two or more independent sources: the Noksapyeong Overpass, Baekbeom Plaza, and G Guesthouse. Three are Reported with one source each: Gyeongnidan-gil, SEOUL BAM (the Danbam site), and Angel Wings. The Danbam location is the one honest disagreement in this guide — VisitKorea and VisitSeoul name different places — and we flag it instead of picking a winner. Go at dusk if you can: VisitSeoul highlights the night view from the overpass toward Namsan and N Seoul Tower, and the finale stop at Baekbeom Plaza is built for the same evening light.

The Danbam question: SEOUL BAM
Danbam is the bar-restaurant at the center of the story, and its real-world address is genuinely disputed. VisitKorea identifies the SEOUL BAM address on Noksapyeong-daero 40-gil as DANBAM: originally a lamb skewer restaurant, turned into a food stall for the drama, with viewers saying it reproduced the original webtoon 200%. The space still operates as SEOUL BAM, serving food from the series. VisitSeoul, however, names the Oriole brunch café beyond the overpass as the Danbam filming location. We list SEOUL BAM as a Reported stop and state the disagreement in the spot card. If you eat here, you are visiting one of the two official candidates — check the current name and hours on site.
Noksapyeong Overpass
VisitKorea calls the overpass the place that appears most often in the series after DANBAM itself: Sae-ro-yi and Yi-seo meet here, and Sae-ro-yi is often lost in thought on it. VisitSeoul and VisitKorea both list it as a frequent meeting and photo spot, with Namsan and N Seoul Tower in the background. It connects Noksapyeong Station with the streets of Itaewon, and it is famous as a filming location for other movies and dramas too. From the top of the overpass, Noksapyeong-daero cuts through Haebangchon and Itaewon toward Namsan. Come at night: the lights are the draw, and the tower view is the photo.
G Guesthouse
This graffiti-covered building is the Bogwang Gosiwon of the drama — the place where Sae-ro-yi and Yi-seo first met. In real life it is an operating guesthouse, popular with foreign visitors to Itaewon; VisitSeoul notes it ranked in Lonely Planet’s Top 6 places to stay in Seoul. Both the exterior and interior carry graffiti designs, and the rooftop offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Itaewon that VisitSeoul says anyone can visit. Confirm rooftop access and hours with the property before you go, and respect guests if you stay — check-in is 2:00 p.m., check-out 11:00 a.m.
Angel Wings
VisitKorea lists this Itaewon-dong graffiti wall as the spot where Sae-ro-yi and Yi-seo took pictures on a date after ending their revenge on Chairman Jang. Various graffiti cover the wall beside the stairs, but the angel wings are the most representative — stand in front of them for the selfie the characters took. It is free street art, a 15-minute stop, and a reminder to be considerate of residents while photographing a residential street.
Gyeongnidan-gil
Seoul’s city government lists Gyeongnidan-gil among the Itaewon Class area filming locations, with street scenes near the pub cluster. It is a free public street, best experienced as a wander between the other stops rather than a single photo point — the cafés and small shops along it are the neighborhood the drama used as its backdrop. Plan the last leg with the map links on the spot card.
Baekbeom Plaza, Namsan Park
The finale stop. VisitSeoul and VisitKorea frame Baekbeom Plaza and the Namsan approach as the last-episode kissing scene, with N Seoul Tower and the fortress wall behind the couple — VisitKorea places the kiss on the road between the Namsan Park entrance toward Sungnyemun Gate and Baekbeom Plaza. The plaza itself is worth the trip without the drama: formed in 1968 when the Statue of Kim Koo was erected, it sits at the entrance to Namsan Park, meets the Namsan Trail, and its fortress wall was restored in 2012 as the starting point of the Sungnyemun Gate section of the Seoul City Wall. In fall it colors with crimson and golden leaves. From here you can walk up to N Seoul Tower, itself a filming location of popular dramas such as My Love from the Star and Boys Over Flowers.

Good to know: Noraebang (노래방)
Itaewon’s nights run late, and the noraebang is where many Korean nights out end. Here’s how it works.
A noraebang (노래방, “song room”) is Korean karaoke — and it’s nothing like the Western bar-stage version. You rent a private room by the hour (around ₩20,000–30,000 for the group, or about ₩500 per song at a coin noraebang), grab a microphone, and sing only for your friends. No audience, no judgment. Noraebang is the default “third round” of a Korean night out: dinner, drinks, then someone suggests a song room, and suddenly the shyest coworker is belting ballads. The remote control is your key — search by title or singer (English keyboards are supported), enter the number, and press start. You can adjust pitch and tempo to suit your voice. English songs are widely available, though very new releases may be missing. Take turns, cheer loudly for everyone’s performance, and never skip someone else’s song. Solo travelers: coin noraebangs (코인노래방) are designed for one person and completely normal to use alone. One caution: ordinary noraebang don’t sell alcohol — venues with dancing-silhouette neon signs are a different, seedier business. Stick to well-lit, clearly marked song rooms.
