About this page
Hospital Playlist is tvN’s 2020–2021 medical drama about five doctors who have been friends since medical school in 1999. Almost everything they do happens at Yulje Medical Center — a hospital that does not exist. That is the first thing a visitor needs to know, because it shapes the whole guide: the drama’s center is fictional, its real locations are few, and the two that survive checking are both in Seoul.
The first is the hospital itself. Press reports name Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital in Magok as the place where the Yulje location scenes were filmed: the lobby, the café, patient rooms, wards, the fourth-floor healing garden, the underground parking lot and Ward 63, filmed from October 2019, with a separate similar set covering the rest. The second is the opposite end of the friends’ week: a karaoke room in Hongdae. VisitKorea’s Hallyu guide names Luxury Su Noraebang’s Hongdae branch as the place where the five main characters sang. One hospital, one karaoke room — that is the verified trail, and this guide does not stretch it.
Seoul: the hospital
The hospital stop is the guide’s anchor, and it comes with a condition that matters more than any photo opportunity: this is a working hospital. Go for the exterior and the public lobby areas, keep the visit short and quiet, and do not treat wards or clinical floors as a set to tour. The same hospital appears in the site’s Seoul guide as another drama’s exterior stop, which is a useful reminder that the building is a real medical center first and a filming location second.
What makes this stop confirmed rather than merely reported is that two independent press reports say the same thing — the hospital provided the Yulje location — and a medical-press piece agrees on the rooms and wards involved. The filming claim does not rest on one article, one blog, or one tour listing. If you go, Line 5 serves the area and the hospital’s own site describes a direct connection to Balsan Station; search the route on Naver Map before you set off, and check the hospital’s official listing first.
Seoul: the karaoke room
The karaoke stop is smaller, simpler, and easier to enjoy. VisitKorea names the Hongdae branch of Luxury Su Noraebang as the place where the five main characters sang, and describes a two-story building filled with karaoke rooms, with singers visible through floor-to-ceiling front windows. That official naming is what earns the stop its reported label; a second official or press source would be needed to call it confirmed, and none was found in this pass.
Practically, this is the evening half of the pair. Hongdae’s main nightlife streets are walkable and well served, and the branch sits among them. This guide states no prices or hours for the venue — check its official listing before you go — and the visit itself needs no explanation beyond the obvious: book a room, sing, and you are standing where the scene was filmed.
Getting there
Both stops are in western Seoul, so no intercity travel is involved. The hospital is in Magok, Gangseo-gu, served by Line 5 at Balsan Station; the karaoke room is in Hongdae, Mapo-gu. Pair them as a half-day: the hospital first, kept short and quiet, and the karaoke room in the evening. For both, search the route on Naver Map (English UI) and recheck each place’s official listing before you set off.
Visiting notes
Do not let the left-out list tempt you into padding this trip. The Pyeongchang farm campsite that dominates search results for this drama’s outdoor scenes is held back for a stated reason: its only fan identification cannot be cited without putting personal names into this guide, and its other identifiers are single travel-platform listicles. The restaurants, the bus terminal, the church and the pension in the same listicles are held back for the same reason — one listicle is not a source. A short honest guide is worth more than a long borrowed one, and both stops here are real, visitable places whether or not you care about the drama.
Two confusions are worth naming plainly. Yulje Medical Center is not a real hospital, so do not search for it as one. And Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam is not a filming location for this drama: a press article names it as the workplace of the real doctors the characters were modeled on, which is a different kind of claim entirely. Neither belongs on an itinerary for this drama.
How we checked
Each stop was checked against the site’s bar, described on the method page: confirmed needs two independent official or press sources, and anything weaker is reported or fan-spotted with its source named. The hospital has two independent press reports plus an agreeing medical-press piece, so it is confirmed. The karaoke room has one official source naming the drama, so it is reported; the business listing that corroborates its address is not counted as a filming source. A second qualifying source was sought for the karaoke room on Nov 4, 2026 in Korean and English and not found. Episode numbers, hours, prices and booking details are stated nowhere in this guide, because no qualifying source in this pass gave them in a citable form.
