Pohang: Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha & When the Camellia Blooms filming locations

Pohang is home to two K-drama seaside towns: Gongjin from Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha (2021) is Cheongha, and Ongsan from When the Camellia Blooms (2019) is Guryongpo. VisitKorea chose both for its February 2023 Hallyu travel theme. People live and fish in both places, so visit quietly, park only where it is allowed and stay out of fishing work areas. This page gathers 11 places from 3 titles, each labeled by how well it is sourced (how we label places).

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha: Cheongha to Seokbyeong

The seaside village of Gongjin is Cheongha in north Pohang, with more scenes on the coast down to Guryongpo. VisitKorea picked the area for its February 2023 Hallyu travel theme. Full guide →

When the Camellia Blooms: Guryongpo

The harbor town of Ongsan is Guryongpo in Pohang. VisitKorea and the press name its old Japanese-era house street as the drama's main filming location. Full guide →

Places shared by several titles are listed once, with every title named.

One-day route: north to south

Start at Cheongha Gongjin Market (on a market day ending in 1 or 6, per VisitKorea), then the Cheongha coast: Cheongjin 2-ri, Sabang Memorial Park and Igari Anchor Observatory. Then cross the city to Guryongpo for the Japanese House Street and the red lighthouse at Seokbyeong 1-ri. Cheongha and Guryongpo are on opposite sides of Pohang, so a car is recommended; otherwise search each leg on Naver Map (English UI).

Lost & changed spots

  • Drama shops in Cheongha Gongjin Market. The shops seen in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha are still there but have changed: Bora Supermarket now sells retro snacks, and the Gongjin Banjeom sign hangs over a different restaurant. Kyungbuk Maeil
