About this page
It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (사이코지만 괜찮아, tvN 2020) ran from Jun 20, 2020 to Aug 9, 2020. It follows a psychiatric-ward caregiver and a children’s-book author whose lives keep tangling, between Seoul and a fictional seaside town. The production’s real places are scattered: a hillside garden cafe and a suspension bridge in Wonju, a seaside cafe on the Goseong coast, a lakeside park in Yangju, an art library in Uijeongbu, and two Incheon places the city’s own tourism board names for this drama.
This guide is deliberately short. Travel listicles name many more places for this drama, but most of them rest on listicles alone, and this site does not publish a place on listicles alone. Seven places pass the bar: three with an official or press source, four identified by Korean fan researchers. The rest are held in the left-out list with their reasons, so a later pass with a better source can add them honestly.
Why visit these places
The honest reason is that these are good places first and drama places second. Sanida is a big garden cafe on a wooded hillside with a rooftop view; Secret Blue is a seaside cafe above a beach; the Sogeumsan bridge is a proper valley crossing; Okjeong Central Park is a lakeside neighborhood park; the Uijeongbu art library is a striking modern building; and the two Incheon places are a walkable cultural complex and a cafe full of light bulbs in a converted clinic. None of them needs the drama to be worth the trip, and two of them — the castle and the hospital — do not exist as buildings at all, which is worth knowing before you go.
Visiting the spots
Wonju
- Sanida Café — a large garden cafe on a hillside in Hojeo-myeon, at 109-128 Chilbong-ro. Expect the cafe grounds, not a castle: the on-screen mansion was created with set pieces and effects here. Walk the garden, use the rooftop, and check the cafe’s official listing before you go.
- Sogeumsan Suspension Bridge — a long pedestrian suspension bridge over a valley in the Sogeumsan Grand Valley area, at 12 Sogeumsan-gil. The walk in involves many steps. Check the valley’s official page before you go.
The east coast
- Secret Blue Bakery Café — a seaside cafe on a cliff above Ayajin Beach in Toseong-myeon, Goseong-gun, at 31-6 Ayajinbuk-gil. The fictional hospital’s exterior is this cafe, not a hospital building. Fans also name nearby Ayajin Beach. Check the cafe’s official listing before you go.
Seoul area
- Okjeong Central Park — a public park in Okjeong-dong, Yangju, built around a lake with a lakeside walkway and a music fountain. Press coverage of the drama’s seventh episode names this park for its date scene on that walkway.
- Uijeongbu Art Library — a modern public art library in Millak-dong, Uijeongbu, at 248 Millak-ro. It is a working library, so keep noise down and check its official page for opening days before you go.
Incheon
- Incheon Art Platform — a public cultural complex in Jung-gu, at 3 Jemullyang-ro 218beon-gil: converted buildings run as a street museum you can walk through. The city’s tourism board names it for this drama, for the scene in which Moon-young follows Sang-tae to ask for an illustration.
- Ilgwang Lighthouse (IK Light House) — a cafe and lighting showroom in Dongincheon-dong, Jung-gu, at 8-1 Chamoejeon-ro 174beon-gil, in a converted clinic building fitted out with light bulbs. The city’s tourism board names it for this drama, for the opening scene in which Moon-young eats a steak at a fancy restaurant. A place listing showed a possibly-temporarily-closed status, so check before you go.
Plan your trip
Base yourself in Seoul. These seven places do not form one route: Wonju is one day trip, the Goseong coast another, and Yangju, Uijeongbu and Incheon each fit around a Seoul stay. For trains and buses from Seoul, check the operator timetables, then search each last leg on Naver Map (English UI). A taxi is the simple fallback for the last leg anywhere. Do not try to chain all seven places into one day.
Combine with nearby guides. For more Incheon filming locations, see our Goblin in Incheon guide and our My Mister in Seoul and Incheon guide.
How we checked
A spot is confirmed when two independent official or press sources with different origins name it as a filming location; it is reported when one official or press source names it; it is fan-spotted when Korean fan researchers identified it by matching scenes and no official or press source has named it yet. This guide has no confirmed stops: three stops are reported and four are fan-spotted. Fan-spotted stops are named as places that appear in the drama, without scene descriptions; scene detail appears only on the reported stops, and only what the cited source itself states. Nothing was added from English commercial travel listicles alone — seven such places are held in the left-out list with their reasons — and no scene, episode number, address, hour or price was guessed. Our method explains how each label is earned.
