The film's story is set at Cheongnyeongpo, King Danjong's real place of exile — but filming there was not possible, so the shoot used similar terrain by Seondol. Only Seondol is listed as a filming location here. Last updated 28 October 2026.

The King's Warden Day Trip to Yeongwol: 1 Spot (1 Reported)
Seondol (open ground)
When filming directly at Cheongnyeongpo proved difficult, the production chose the open ground in front of Seondol — riverside terrain similar to Cheongnyeongpo — as a filming location, according to a Korea Tourism Organization travel article on the film's Yeongwol. The set built on the ground has since been removed.
