About this page
Broker is Hirokazu Kore-eda’s 2022 Korean-language film about a baby box — a heated space where a parent can anonymously leave a newborn to be cared for — and the unlikely group that forms around one abandoned baby. Song Kang-ho plays the man who takes babies from the box, Lee Ji-eun (IU) the mother who comes back, and Gang Dong-won and Bae Doona round out the cast. The film premiered in competition at Cannes in 2022, and Yonhap, citing the Busan Film Commission, says it was shot at 13 locations in Busan over about two months. This guide covers the four of those that VisitKorea names in its Busan filming-location course.
Busan: church
Nambusan Church is the film’s Busan Family Church, the church with the baby hatch where the story starts. VisitKorea is the only source naming this exact church, so the stop is labeled reported, and the guide claims no scene inside it. It is also the stop that needs the most care: this is a working church, so treat it as an exterior-only visit and leave the baby-box facility alone.
VisitKorea describes Jeonpo Café Street as a street lined with specialty coffee shops, dessert cafés, bakeries and brunch spots, many of them in renovated houses, factories and warehouses. That history matches the Broker course’s description of an old tool-shop alley now holding small, privately owned cafés. VisitKorea lists the street as open all year round, with hours varying by store, and notes that parking is not available, so check an individual café’s hours.
Jeonpo: street corner and café street
Jeonpo-dong gives the guide its two most walkable stops. At Jeonpo Samgeori, VisitKorea places the scene where So-young goes to the phone booth beside a bus stop, among narrow sidewalks and faded murals — a corner that reads as the neighborhood itself rather than a dressed set. Jeonpo Café Street, a former tool-shop alley turned into a strip of small independent cafés, is listed in the same VisitKorea course without a named scene, so visit it for the street, not for one shot. Yonhap names Jeonpo-dong as a Broker filming neighbourhood, which supports the area but not either exact spot, so both stay reported.
Dadaepo: beach
Dadaepo Beach is the guide’s only confirmed stop: VisitKorea names it as the beach in the photo IU posted on social media, and Yonhap, citing the Busan Film Commission, independently names Dadaepo Beach among the film’s Busan locations. It is also the natural end of the day — VisitKorea recommends arriving right before sunset, with the beachside park, eco-walking trail and Sunset Fountain of Dream nearby.
Dadaepo Beach sits where the Nakdong River meets the South Sea, and Busan City describes it as a place for sunrise, sunset and a sandy beach. The city listing gives free admission and lists restrooms, showers, changing rooms, a waterfront park and foot-washing stations among its amenities. After sunset, the evening can continue at the nearby Sunset Fountain of Dreams: VisitKorea describes a musical fountain whose jets move in sync with music and lighting, reaching 55 metres, while Busan City notes its season runs from April to October, with no shows on Mondays and schedules subject to change.
Getting there
Busan is the southern terminus of the Gyeongbu high-speed line from Seoul; from Busan Station, the Jeonpo stops sit in Busanjin-gu and the beach sits in Saha-gu to the west. No last-mile transit route was verified for any stop, so check local bus or taxi options on arrival, and recheck each place’s access on the day. How we checked
Every stop in this guide comes from VisitKorea’s official Broker filming-location course, and Dadaepo Beach has a second independent source in Yonhap’s Busan Film Commission report. A second exact-spot source was sought for the other three stops on Oct 27, 2026 in Korean and English; only neighbourhood-level or same-publisher matches turned up, so those stops stay reported. Scene details appear only where a cited source states them. Our methodology explains how each label is earned.
What to check before you go
Confirm three points on the day. First, Nambusan Church remains a working church, so the exterior-only rule in this guide stands even if the gates look open. Second, Jeonpo’s cafés keep their own hours, and the street lists parking as not available, so a café chosen in advance may still be closed. Third, the Dadaepo fountain is seasonal: outside April to October, or on a Monday, there may be no show, and even in season a performance can be cancelled for weather or maintenance.
